Coloring Foiled Roses with Alcohol Markers + A look back to our February Digi Release

Our February Digi Release had some amazing floral stamps! You know how much I love flowers! And I have been playing with different mediums to stretch the use of my digital stamps. My card for today features floral stamps from -You are Loved-.

This color combo ruled my craft room this month! I love the contrast! I colored the images with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. The trick to get a clean foiled finish without any stains from the markers is to actually colored the flowers first and foil them once they're done. (Images were printed on laser printer and foiled with Deco Foil on a laminator.)

I hope you have a chance to try out this super easy tip! We have now over 40 digital stamp sets available and our shop continues to grow, so I know you'll find something to suit your cardmaking style so you can experiment with all these fun techniques we've shared along the way.

Watercolored Dog Roses with New Stamps by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

As you may know I am now part of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps creative team, but today I'm also sharing a new stamp set I had the honor of creating for the company: Floral GreetingsI had the absolute joy to put together this set for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps that includes two beautiful floral images and a collection of greetings for every occasion!

My card for today is very clean with a striking color palette. I wanted the flowers to stand out more than anything else. I colored them -guiding myself by dog roses pictures- in two tones of pink and decoupaged them to add more dimension.

To create the decoupage effect I stamped the dogrose branch twice to the background and colored the images. I also stamped the flowers on another piece of white cardstock and colored them. I then fussy cut them and adhere them on top of the previously stamped background, offsetting the flowers a bit to make them look fuller. I also added some sparkle to the images with a shimmer spray.

I hope you enjoy…

Mixed Media Card featuring Lotus Flower by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

I've been working on a few mixed media projects behind the scenes. I love to add different textures with simple supplies I already have in my stash. Today's card is a reflection of where my creative mood has been lately.

This beautiful Lotus Flower by Sweet 'n Sassy Stampswas actually digitally stamped. (It is also available as a clear stamp and is currently on SALE here!) I printed the image on a laser printer and foiled it using a laminator with a beautiful Amber Watercolor Deco Foil transfer sheet. Once the image is foiled it will allow you to play with resist techniques since it works just as an embossing powder would. I went ahead and painted the flowers with Colorbox pigment inks, picking up the inks with a waterbrush. After the ink dried I added a few accents to the petals using Magenta and Pink Pan Pastel, applying it directly with my fingers. To soften and add a subtle shimmer to the images I applied a tad bit of Metallic Silver Pan Pastel too.

Today I'm using stamps from -You are Loved-. I couldn't resist foiling this romantic rose on vellum. To give the card a soft contrast I used one of the new watercolor Deco Foil, that actually has different tones of lilac and purple allowing the image to really glow and stand out. I colored the back of the vellum with magenta using a Spectrum Noir alcohol marker.

The sentiment was also foiled on whi…
